Flat Ashton

We received a large envelope in the mail last March from my nephew Ashton, my brother Frank's kid. They live in Wisconsin. In Ashton's pre-kindergarten class they were learning about Flat Stanley. He sent us this version of "Flat Ashton" and wanted us to take him on adventures of where we live. Now in Salt Lake City, there was not a lot to see in March. It was still cold with snow on the mountains, but we did our best. We first tried to go to Kennecott Copper Mine, the largest copper mine in the world. It was closed until April 1, so we just took a photo of Haydon and Flat Ashton by one of the copper mountains. We then went out to the Great Salt Lake. It was freezing and very smelly, but Haydon and Sam enjoyed throwing rocks into the lake. We then went to a local library and rented the Flat Stanley book since we have not read this one before, and Haydon read it to Flat Ashton. This project was a lot of fun for the kids, and i enjoyed it quite a bit too!
