Both has stitches-who will be the first with a cast?

Before the first five years of having kids, they have each had stitches. I guess this is what being a Mom of two little boys brings you.

With Haydon, it was stitches in his cheek. One night, Sam had gotten a hold of the food processor blade. I left it on the counter to dry after I had washed it and didn't think much else of it. Sam just swung it the right way and sliced Haydon's cheek right under his right eye. I took him to the local Instacare, which is quicker and cheaper than the Emergency Room. At first they thought we would need to see a plastic surgeon at the local children's hospital because of the cut, but it was not very deep and far enough away from his eye that we wouldn't have to worry. They put in some disintegrating stitches, and now he just has a little scar. It gives him personality.

As for Sam, he was just jumping on his bed like the monkey he is, and when he jumped to the floor, his knee just split wide open. Here is his knee after the stitches. I was at work at the time, and by the time I got to the Instacare, they had locked all the doors for closing time. When I got there, I banged on all the windows and doors until someone saw me. They let me in and Sam was just laying there on a bed, as content as could be with a plastic medical glove on his hand. He wasn't crying at all. I don't even know if he knew that they were stitching him up. He is a brave little boy.
